Hagia Sophia is an active mosque. Modest dress is required for all visitors regardless of gender or religion.
Women's Dress Code

- Head covering (scarves provided free)
- Long sleeves or 3/4 sleeves
- Long skirt or trousers
- Loose-fitting clothing
Not Allowed
- Sleeveless tops or tank tops
- Shorts or miniskirts
- Transparent or tight clothing
- Low necklines

- Long trousers
- T-shirt or shirt with sleeves
- Smart casual wear

- Shorts above the knee
- Sleeveless shirts or tank tops
- Beach wear or swimwear
General Rules
Shoes must be removed (bags provided)
Free head scarves at entrance
